Warm and Inviting Environment

Sean Cooper, Estimator has been with ITC since 2018.  He was undertaking temporary labouring work, which piqued his interest in the construction world, when he was offered a temporary position at ITC assisting with our re-branding.  ITC were a 10-minute commute from his home, and he said that from the moment he walked through the door, he thought it was a warm and inviting environment.  During his first week, Ian Conway, founding Director, spent some time with him, chatting about Sean’s life, school etc and it made him feel like he was really interested in him – Sean says “Ian took an interest in me and an opportunity then came up in the Project Support Team which I took and it went from there.”

Career Path

It wasn’t until he came to ITC that Sean started to see a career path for himself – “ITC wanted to help me develop from the get-go and invest in me, which has been and continues to be great.”

Sean says he’s been encouraged to take on bigger and more exciting opportunities, “it can be a bit daunting, but afterwards it feels good that I’ve embraced the challenge.”  The company is going in the right direction and I’m pleased to be part of its growth strategy.

Great Mentors

He also said that he’s been fortunate to have some great mentors at ITC, helping him learn as he develops in his role; “they are always prepared to offer positive, good honest feedback and tell you where you can do things differently, which is crucial.”
