Progress

Sana Hussain who is ITC’s Marketing Assistant has been with ITC for 2 years and 5 months.  She originally joined on a part-time basis as a Project Secretary while she was studying for her marketing qualification.  She’s been really pleased with her progress and the opportunity to put into practice her marketing knowledge.

Sana read on our website a staff member saying that working at ITC felt like a big extended family and she hadn’t ever heard that said by an employee before – she thought that was inviting and also liked that ITC placed an importance on personal development.  From her first interview she was given a good impression of the company, which included meeting a director.

Evolving and Developing

Sana enjoys and values the regular review and appraisals she has with her line manager as she feels this keeps her evolving and developing in her role.  She’s worked elsewhere where you have an appraisal and then nothing else very much happens – but at ITC you are encouraged to do your best and move forward.  This has really played out in her progression, when she originally discussed her desire to move into a marketing based role, her manager was fully supportive, not thinking about the inconvenience this might place on her team, but she thought about what would be good for Sana and her development.

She went on to say, that she’s also enjoyed the external training – having attended a 1 x day Assertive Training course and recently completed a Teacher’s Writing course.  “If you want to work somewhere, where your hard work and effort is recognised, where you can work autonomously whilst being supported by your line manager and colleagues then  ITC is the company for you!”

There’s a good balance of work ethic and taking a break – it just makes you want to do your very best.

Sana said she’s always been made to feel welcome; “…everyone is helpful and helps you settle in, there’s a good social side to the company too including team lunches and the opportunity to get involved in their charitable work if you want to.”

One of the quotes from Sana that she thought might sound a bit cheesy – but we like it and hope you do too…
