University Arts London

Type: Refurbishment
Duration: 10 Weeks
Value: £1.8m

Multi-site project for the University Arts London at their Camberwell, Wimbledon and Chelsea locations.

Camberwell: fit-out of the 3rd, 4th & 5th floors of the New Academic Building and refurbishment of parts of the ground and first floors of the Victorian Building.

Chelsea: light touch refurbishment of existing rooms within Block A on the campus. Minor services modification, data and power, decorations, perimeter boarding and installation of blinds.

Wimbledon: refurbishment of the existing studios in the New Studio Building to form new performance spaces and the light refurbishment of existing rooms which will accommodate courses decanted from other parts of the Wimbledon campus.

The project handed over on time for Wimbledon and Chelsea on 13th September, and slightly behind the original schedule for Camberwell on 18th September due to a very challenging lead-in and programme, along with the inevitable design delays and variations associated with a project of this nature. We were still able to get all the students back into the building for the new term.

The project was a huge challenge, spread over 3 sites, across different areas of London. Our team put in an exceptional effort on this project, working long hours, evenings, nights and weekends to ensure the delivery of a high-standard project. We’re please to report that the client was delighted with the outcome! A real testament to the collaboration from all involved.
