The Talent House
A vibrant new creative hub in the heart of Stratford’s Sugar House Island
Building on a 20-year history of collaboration, East London Dance and UD have launched a joint venture to form Talent House. This creative hub is aimed at creating opportunities for dance and music artists to connect and create with one another.
ITC delivered a modern Cat B fit-out of this purpose-built space, to meet the demands of a growing community of young people, artists and local residents.
State-of-the-art facilities to serve the UK’s first Talent House
Designed by award-winning Architect Katy Marks and executed by ITC, the incredible new home for Talent House now boasts high-performance professional facilities including:
- A central atrium with main reception
- 5 Music Production/Recording studios
- 2 Dance studios
- 2 Vocal booths
- Live room
- Large flexible teaching and rehearsal space
- Mac and Tech lab
- Flexible space for seminars
- Shared open plan offices, meeting rooms and storage
Our solution included the installation of partitioning, ceiling, joinery, decorations, WC’s, a new lift for access and services to the core, that were extended to the rest of the building.
The reception is now integrated with the new entrance foyer, which features some impressive bespoke joinery. Specialist acoustic door sets and glazing where installed to amplify the capabilities of the technology in all studios and booths.
More than 2,100 hours of free access to the building and its facilities will be made available to locally-based independent artists every year.
Upgraded M&E throughout supports this pioneering music and dance hub
ITC installed mechanical, electrical, audio visual and data services throughout the spaces to facilitate digital broadcasting.
The heating, ventilation system and ductwork services throughout were reconfigured. Works to enable this, involved installation of new pipework, radiators, VRF cooling system, drainage connections to support the high-performance professional facilities spanning across three floors.
The team also carried out an extension to the existing fire alarm and installation of access control and intruder systems.
“A sincere thanks, for all your work and commitment to the project. The feedback from other guests on the quality of the design and construction has been wholeheartedly positive.”
