Luxury fit-out of the Curio Collection by Hilton’s new hotel, The Gantry

The Gantry is located in the East Village in Stratford, the home of the Athlete’s Village during the 2012 London Olympic Games. It is an urban resort and hotel offering an integrated eating, drinking, socialising and entertaining experience under one roof.

ITC were delighted to be appointed as the fit-out contractor, to transform the empty shell and core of the ground floor and create a welcoming food and beverage destination within this designer hotel.

It’s all in the detail

The building boasts a silhouette inspired by New York City’s Flatiron Building and features design influenced by industrial East London in the Victorian era. The quality of craftmanship and the design details of the ground floor space, set the tone for this lifestyle hotel.

The floors were transformed by installing raised access flooring to allow for different thickness of tile. Three different types of herringbone timber tiles were laid by hand, to create an eye-catching statement floor.

To create the space for the artisan food market, the team installed catering and refrigeration facilities, which included cheese and meat storage cooler units, meat curing units, counters and storage shelving. A smart security screen was installed to separate the market form the café. The screen can be discreetly hidden in a wall when it is not in use.

The team built a bespoke wine wall, which can hold up to 100+ bottles of wine. The impressive wall features LED display lighting to illuminate the wine bottles when placed in a shopping basket – inspiring visitors to pick up a bottle and also maximises the retail ambiance.

Bespoke lighting was fitted to match the existing hotel lighting. All new M & E services were installed including a new fire alarm and sprinkler system.

A responsible development

During construction, a site wide air quality plan was put in place to minimise dust pollution arising from the site. All practical pollution measures were employed to avoid ground and surface water pollution. Low flow taps were installed to reduce water consumption. The team ensured that all materials were in keeping with the BREEAM approach that was undertaken on the base build.

We are delighted that this ground floor fit-out project achieved ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating.

An artisan market, deli and café,
designed to feed and inspire guests and locals

The ground floor now features stunning, independent high-quality food and beverage public spaces. The development enhances the experience of hotel guests and visitors.

Following the success of this development, our team have been appointed to fit-out The Gantry’s rooftop restaurant, bar and terraces.

It’s been a pleasure to deal with you as a business. The individuals on the project have been honest and transparent throughout the project. I would use you again and would recommend ITC to any client of mine in terms of a fit-out.
