5 Fleet Place, London

This project was for the rolling strip and CAT A refurbishment of floors one and two of this central London, occupied office block, as they became vacated by the current tenants.

From Old to New

The works entailed the complete strip out of services, architectural finishes and raised floors, with the reinstatement of the same to the highest quality of finishes.

Landlord Upgrades

In addition, other landlord upgrades were also undertaken including the phased refurbishment of the multi-levelled reception, which allowed the building and lifts to remain live and accessible at all times, including evenings and weekends. An innovative moveable tunnel was constructed, which doubled as a working platform for high level works to continue whilst the reception remained operational.

Lift Lobby Improvments

The lift lobby was also upgraded with high quality finishes, and phased replacement of the lift cars with new glass, metal and stone internal finishes.

Cycle Storage and Washroom Upgrades

New upgrades were also made in the basement to better support current trends towards cycling to work and to bring the building in line with current British Council for Offices (BCO) requirements. The existing cycle storage and washroom facilities were replaced with double the number of cycle spaces and showers (130 and 8 respectively), and further enhanced with the addition of a 65 strong locker room and new wayfinding scheme.

Covid-19 Challenges

Due to Covid-19 the project had to be completed under strict social distancing measures. Despite the significant on-site challenges, the team worked within these guidelines to provide the client with modern and bright new headquarters.
