ITC refurbishes award winning care home, Royal Alfred Seafarers Society
The Royal Alfred Seafarers Society provides housing, residential and nursing care to former and retired seafarers, their widows and dependants. ITC were appointed to carry out refurbishment works to modernise facilities to help secure the care homes future and expand its accommodation offer.
We are currently on site delivering this multi-phased project, which involves the refurbishment of bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, building of new extensions and the upgrade of common areas and grounds.
“All members of the ITC team have shown a keen interest in the project and have a keen eye for detail. The works on site have been carried out with care and the team have gone out of their way to work cooperatively and safely with the Staff and Residents of the Home.” Charles Love, Quantity Surveyor, Love Jenkins
Collaboration with the home team to minimise disturbance to staff and residents
To date, the refurbishment works involved a full strip-out of existing bedrooms/areas. The modernisation and creation of these spaces included the introduction of en-suites, wet rooms, staff and storage areas with newly created internal staircases. Fire escapes, new doors and windows were fitted throughout.
The M & E services included installation of underground drainage, wet services, heating, nurse call, fire, lighting, power and data services. The team have also upgraded all home systems and l installed a new air-conditioning system with state-of-the-art nano technology.
