Gnome House project completion
3rd January 2019
We’ve now embarked upon a brand new year and can’t wait to see what opportunities 2019 brings, but we’re still thinking back to all the wonderful projects we completed last year. We’re grateful to our clients and partners for making 2018 such a success.
Last year saw the completion of a number of big projects, and not least our work for Big Creative Education at Gnome House. This project saw us refurbish two floors of office space to create an eco-friendly working space fit for creatives and hotdesking in this shared location. The extensive works involved installing a new floor with wall and ceiling finishes, demolishing and installing new partitions, new washrooms, bathrooms and kitchen units, and installing new mechanical, electrical, heating and air-conditioning systems throughout. In keeping with the eco-friendly brief we also used re-purposed materials in the office furnishing to complete a project which met and exceeded the client’s high expectations.
Careful attention had to be paid to the logistics of the project as the office space we were working on is above a community centre and arts studio. Both these neighbours had experienced disruption when previous contractors were working in the vicinity and we took the time to build a strong relationship with them so that things would be different with ITC. Noise disruption was planned around classes and busy times so that both facilities could function undisturbed, yet the project could still progress to time and on budget. The strong relationship we built also saw us donate hand dryers and LED lighting to the community centre to help improve the services in their space too!
