2019: A year in the life of ITC!

5th February 2020

Here at ITC, 2019 proved to be a busy but exciting year, from long service celebrations to our charity work to the team enjoying our social events. Read on to find out about ITC’s achievements and activities and what the team got up to.

Long service celebrations

In 2019 ITC witnessed many long service celebrations, starting off with Finance Administrator Margaret Farmer and Board Director and Chief Estimator Dan Harding celebrated 25 years. Congratulations were also in order for Project Directors Mark Vietro and Tony Corbett were presented with their 15-year service awards, and not forgetting Project Secretary Laura Curtis, Site Manager George Bogucki and Senior Contracts Manager Rick Owen who all received their 5-year service award!

We are proud to announce that in 2019, ITC raised £5,117.45 for charity. The team took part in a six mile walk in the Surrey Hills, in aid of two charities very close to ITC’s heart – The British Heart Foundation, a charity linked to our much-missed colleague and friend, Owen Wellman, and for our company charity, The Ryan MS Therapy Centre.

In September, ITC tackled the Paragon Mudathon – racing through 5km of challenging mud pools and obstacles to raise money for the charity’s Land Aid and Born Too Soon.

In June ITC took part in the Downwell Group Surveyors Cup with forty other teams from the construction industry in aid of the Jermain Defoe Foundation. The team placed 16th in the knockout stages.

ITC attend international events

For the past few years ITC has been attending international events. Tony Smith and Nick Hoy hit the slopes in January 2019 for PropSki in the world-renowned Chamnoix Mont-Blanc Valley and returned again in 2020 sponsoring the ladies sleigh race.

ITC sponsored the 2019 PropSki Pre-Trip event in central London, hosted by U+I, which was a fantastic opportunity to meet all those who will be attending, as well as others contemplating going. We also sponsored the PropSki launch party in August, which revealed the details for the 2019 trip and raised money for LandAid.

ITC attended MIPIM 2019 in Cannes, the auspicious world leading property market and networking event. Nick Conway commented: “MIPIM was non-stop, in the best way! From the use of the latest technology in the industry to analysing emerging trends in the market, it was wonderful to join with other industry experts and discuss the latest developments”.

Becky, Nick and Ian look forward to going to Cannes in March 2020, click here to find out more!

Mental Health Awareness Week at ITC

In support of the World Mental Health Day movement, ITC scheduled ‘down tools’ for 15 mins, where all members of staff were encouraged to grab a coffee and doughnut, and stop with colleagues for a natter – as well as watching a brief video aimed at encouraging us all to seek out support if and when we need it. ITC Social

A huge thank you to our social committee who arranged a number of events for the team in 2019, including trips to Boxpark, Escape Room, the late summer party, and Christmas drinks to mention a few! We had a great time and it was lovely for ITC to relax and spend time together outside of work hours.

ITC Client Hosted Events

ITC hosted several key client events in 2019 including cricket T20, gin tasting, Christmas lunch, beer and cheese evening and breakfast meetings to name a few!

In the summer ITC held a ladies breakfast at Sketch which witnessed a great turnout of consultants MACE group, Paragon, Playle & Partners and U+I Group. ITC also hosted a slightly different evening of cocktail making at the new London venue Alcotraz. This entertaining event was aimed at people that we have worked with within the commercial sector.
